Black History Month: African Tribe Research Project
Focus: The African Influences portrayed in Black Panther
Task:
1. Choose an area of Black Panther to focus on. This could be the set, the clothing, the language choices, the names, or the cultural impacts in general.
2. Do additional research (starter websites will be included below) to design a visual of you focus area. Your visual could be a replica of the actual object, a drawing with labels, a model, a comic strip, a written informational response, or a poster. Coloring, shapes, sizes, and labels should be realistic and accurate to the African tribe you are referencing.
3. Write a short response in which you explain how the item you are researching from Black Panther connects back to the cultural impacts of your specific African tribe (this should sound familiar-this is an example of our enduring issue of CULTURAL DIFFUSION)! Be make sure that you have the following in your prompt:
* the name of the African tribe
* the part of the culture that the tribe contributed (language, rituals, traditions, etc.)
* why it is important to the African culture
4. Neatness and Originality count so think of a way that you can show off the pride and the importance of these tribes in a respectful and creative way.
Starter Websites (to support your text):
